Carpenter

Location: Southampton

Role:

· Perform day-to-day tasks in carpentry duties, working hands-on alongside the other team members, actively performing carpenters' and joiners’ duties on the manufacturing and assembly of timber frame panels and other related tasks, including other building materials.

· Undertake a range of trades as required, for example, precise cutting of timber materials, make and install timber frame panels for walls, floors and roof panels. Install the sheeting and other related building materials, performing, where necessary, 1st fix construction operations and manufacturing of modular units from panels.

· Handling timber in all aspects of manufacturing, using woodworking machinery to fit and finish grips to handgun frames, etc.

· The work will be based on a production line assisting with the assembly of timber frame panels and other related building materials.

· Take on multiple tasks as per jobs to achieve and exceed delivery requirements. Constantly improving and exceeding the quality of work performance.

· Ensure the tasks and performance carried out are within required productivity and quality, and in line with the drawings and technical information provided. Exceed the standard outlined where required.

· Comply with workstation induction, ensuring H&S processes & procedures are fully understood and adhered to.

Ideal Candidate:

· The ideal candidate will have experience using hand tools and within aspects of basic carpentry/joinery/bench joinery/woodworking, or other relevant practical experience is essential as we require a candidate who is able to start with minimal training.

· Experience of working on timber frame pre-panelised residential projects or at a timber frame pre-panelised Factory would be beneficial.

· At least three years’ trades experience.

· Demonstrates good judgment in decision-making.

· Understands ‘Quality Assurance’ principles.

· Can prioritise and has good overall time management skills.

· Uses initiative and can solve problems independently.
