FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Location: Southampton, SO40 3SA

GO_modular is looking for a Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including internal accounting, taxation, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management. You will be a part of a team based in our Factory office at Totton, Southampton.

You will be actively involved in much of the company's business!

Role:

  • Managing all finance and accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition Coordinate

  • Budgeting and forecasting alongside ad-hoc financial analysis as needed

  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

  • Building and maintaining detailed financial models and forecasts to support both short and long-term strategic planning

  • Monthly financial reports and management accounts, support month-end and year-end close process

  • Manage and comply with tax filings

  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders and non-financial departments

  • Working with senior management to develop and maintain company business models

  • Provide instruction to the team in respect of the accounting and cost control processes

  • Monitoring costs to ensure budgets are met

  • Debtor control

  • Supplier negotiation including obtaining discounts

  • Additional Financial Controller duties as necessary

Ideal Candidate:

This position will suit an accomplished Financial Controller keen to progress their career and skills with a Modular Manufacturer, who build bespoke, Residential & Commercial projects in South of England

  • Ideally at least 2+ years post qualified experience as a Financial Controller of overall combined accounting and finance experience. Professional qualification i.e. AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

  • Experience with running an internal accounts process

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

  • Excellent accounting software user (preferably Sage 50/200 professional) and administration skills

  • A driven, self-starter with a passion for high growth companies

  • Ability to identify potential issues in respect of a piece of complex legislation or policy and provide clear and comprehensive verbal and written analysis

  • Good degree and mathematical set-up of mind desired
